BMHA is planning to redevelop Marine Drive and we want residents to be involved. BMHA will serve as co-developer and co-owner of the future Marine Drive development. All 616 affordable units will be replaced on the Marine Drive site, in phases.

The buildings and many of its utility systems at Marine Drive are over 70 years old. It's time to replace those outdated systems.

NO! The result will be at least a one-for-one replacement of all 616 affordable apartments.

Yes. The plan is for every family to only have to move once, into their new apartment. Relocation and construction will take place in phases, with construction of new buildings starting on the existing parking lots. The first moves for existing residents are projected to be at the end of 2025.

A Relocation Specialist will be assigned to each household. They will work with you to identify your housing needs and options. Any relocation will be conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

POTENTIALLY. Your relocation specialist will verify that. You will have the appropriate size apartment that your household makeup qualifies for at the time of the move.

NO. Exact logistics are to be determined, but assistance will be provided to move and store belongings to the greatest extent possible. Packing materials will be provided, and for those with special needs, packing assistance as well.

YES! There will be units configured for households requiring accessibility accommodations, as well as those with hearing and or visual impairments.

The future Marine Drive has not been designed. We invite residents to participate in a collaborative process to create a master plan for the development, with on-going resident involvement. The first design workshop is planned at the end of February, with resident meetings on February 28th and March 2nd, 2023.
